Vendor protection

by isleofman.com 4th April 2006
A Douglas MHK is hoping to protect the Island’s fast food businesses during this year’s TT festival.

In the House of Keys this morning, Bill Henderson (pictured) will put three questions to Tourism Minister David Cretney on the subject.

Charlotte Quayle reports:

In his first question, Mr Henderson wants to know if the DTL operates a fair business policy during events it promotes.

His next question is more pointed, asking whether the department will put measures in place to protect local catering companies that operate year-round.

And in a third and more detailed question, he focuses on the Bushy’s beer tent and the fast food outlets around it.

Mr Henderson will ask if there are nearby caterers, where they will be and how many there are.

He will then ask whether they’ll need trading licences to set up shop.
