Police are investigating an incident in which a car was found ablaze in the early hours of this morning (Wed).
It was discovered at around half past midnight on the single track road between Rushen mines and Glen Maye. The fire was so ferocious it was visible from several miles away, and had spread to vegetation on either side of the road.
Emergency services took several hours to deal with the incident and the road was totally blocked for a time.
The vehicle, which was completely gutted was discovered to be a silver or grey Renault Laguna diesel estate car which had three alloy wheel hubs and one steel hub.
Police say the would like to speak to anyone who may know about the vehicle.
Currently there are no reports of such a car being reported as stolen.
