The Transport Minister says time is running out to sort the problem of noise nuisance at White Hoe.
Phil Braidwood (pictured) says a noise abatement notice was served on his department in July last year, and the situation must be sorted within 12 months.
Residents of six cottages in the area have been considering legal action because of "low frequency vibrations" coming from an IRIS pumping station.
It's been ongoing for nearly three years.
Mr Braidwood says his department is considering a number of options, but as yet no solution has been found.
