A review into the long-term funding of the DHSS can have a positive impact on the Island’s health service.
That is the belief of the chairman of the Isle of Man Medical Society’s medical executive.
Last week it was announced a working group was being set up by the Council’s social policy committee to examine options for a sustainable long-term funding policy, taking into account the pressures the department is expected to face over the next decade.
It comes after the the department confirmed an ?8 million overspend earlier this year, although there will be no cuts to clinical services in the new financial year.
Health professionals are contributing to the group and medical executive chairman, Bob Fayle, believes they’ll have an important role to play:
