The trial of the wife of the former chief minister is NOT to go ahead this morning (Friday).

Although the court will sit as scheduled at ten o’clock, it is believed the case will be adjourned until a date in June.

It follows submissions made yesterday.

Julie Corkill denies two offences of deception and two more of false accounting in connection with the payment of government grants towards tourist accommodation work at her family home, Ballacain (pictured).

Builder William Kelly, a partner in G C Construction, which carried out work at the Corkill's home, denies producing fraudulent documents for the Department of Tourism and Leisure for the purpose of payment of a tourism development fund and aiding and abetting.
