The future of Brunswick Road post office will not be known for a few more weeks.
Isle of Man Post Office bosses were due to announce whether or not the local sub-post office service would close or be handed over to another shop in the west Douglas area.
However, they have now decided to defer making that decision.
Although two business have applied to take over the operation, it was initially decided not to award the contract until the post office decided to review its decision.
A fortnight ago, more than 100 protesters, including MHKs John Shimmin and Dominic Delaney, took to the streets to object to the potential closure and 800 people signed a petition demanding the facility is retained.
The post office will remain open for business until the decision is made.
