Householders are being reminded about the dangers of chip pan fires once again after an incident in Douglas on Thursday.
Two appliances attended an incident in Wesley Terrace in which a pan had been left on the stove and burst into flames.
Fire crews using breathing apparatus extinguished the blaze, and damage was confined to the kitchen although the building was heavily smoke logged.
The public are being reminded that fat pans should never be more than a third full, and should not be left unattended at any time. If possible householders are also encouraged to use a thermostatically controlled deep-fat fryer whenever possible.
