Island reaction to bird flu'

by isleofman.com 7th April 2006
The Department of Agriculture is urging caution not panic following the discovery of a dead swan infected with the avian flu virus in Scotland.

Minister, Phil Gawne, says the discovery isn't surprising given the virus has been circulating in wild bird populations in Europe.

Government Vet, Stuart Jaques, says keeping birds indoors is not something that is being considered.
