Grand National hopes

by isleofman.com 8th April 2006
It’s Grand National Day and many local eyes will be focused on last year’s winner Hedgehunter – owned by Island resident Trevor Hemmings.

Mr Hemmings, who has extensive stabling at his Ballavoddan mansion in the north of the Island, hopes it will become the first horse since Red Rum to win the race two years running.

Hedgehunter cruised to victory in last year’s National by 14 lengths and arrives at Aintree following an impressive second place finish in the recent Cheltenham Gold Cup.
