The owners of the Steam Packet Company are buying again: this time a roadside catering service in the UK.
The Australian investment bank is part of a consortium that purchased the business from Compass Group plc for an undisclosed amount.
The roadside catering business is called Moto and is a series of 43 shopping outlets across the UK motorway network, with outlets which include brands Upper Crust and Marks & Spencer Simply Food.
It adds to the ?800 million worth of assets currently sitting on the bank's balance sheet with a view to being included in more than a dozen satellite funds.
Last October it bought the Steam Packet, car parks in New York, two Canadian healthcare projects and a US water utility firm.
In late February, Macquarie also dropped an unsuccessful bid for the London Stock Exchange.
