Manx farming and the EU

by isleofman.com 10th April 2006
The Agriculture Minister is confident that future EU farming policies will take into account the demands faced by the Isle of Man.

Phil Gawne has been at a conference on the challenges for Agriculture in Islands and remote regions.

He says it became clear that most Islands throughout Europe face similar problems of high cost production costs, shortage of labour and difficulties with selling for a profit.

Mr Gawne believes he was able to impress the needs of the Island, and hopes that will pay off.
