British citizenship in the Isle of Man

by isleofman.com 11th April 2006
Foreign nationals applying for British citizenship in the Isle of Man will soon have to demonstrate a knowledge of the Island.

From May 1st, new requirements come into effect which recognises the separate identities of the Island and other crown dependencies, Jersey and Guernsey.

The move is in line with a new process for gaining British citizenship introduced in the UK last November.

The new process ensures people who apply for British citizenship in the Isle of Man will have some understanding of its distinctive features.
