The Southern 100 Racing Club is expressing dismay and disappointment at what it terms the withdrawl of support for it's events by Castletown Commissioners.
The local authority has previously provided help with the presentation stage in the Square, grass cutting and the erection of a granstand at School Hill.
The Club claims it will cost two thousand pounds to carry out this work on it's own.
Race Secretary George Peach is upset the Commissioners are not fully behind the race meetings which attract thousands of visitors to the town:-
However, Castletown Commissioners Chairman Kevin Weir is denying support for the event has been withdrawn.
He says all events funded by the authority have to operate within a limited budget, and the Southern 100 Club has been asked to detail it's requirements.
Mr Weir hopes talks can be arranged to sort the matter out:-
