New Sellafield power station?

by isleofman.com 11th April 2006
Sellafield has been identified by Cumbria County Council as a possible site for a new nuclear power station.

A consultant’s report says the site would be a viable one or a new reactor which would be much more powerful than the previous plant there.

Local politicians in the county have welcomed the news as it could create between 600 and a 1,000 new jobs.

Labour MP Jamie Reed, a former press officer based at Sellafield, says the county council should now petition the government for a new plant.
