Lower phone bills?

The Chairman of the Communications Commission hopes Manx Telecom's customers will have their bills reduced.

The news comes in the wake of the Island's budget.

Speaking in the House of Keys this week, John Shimmin said the zero rate of corporation tax ,announced by the Treasury, would greatly benefit the Island’s telecom provider.

He hopes the company will pass on the tax savings to its customers rather than inflate its own profits.

Mr Shimmin hopes the zero rate tax strategy should help to keep bills down:
