Children's Home inspections

All 26 of the Island’s children’s homes are to be inspected at least twice a year.

There’s also to be visits every two months to assess the welfare of our young people in care.

They're just some of the proposals in the Department of Health’s recently established registration and inspection unit.

Independent, it will report directly to the director of social services.

Health Minister Steve Rodan (pictured) hopes it will help avoid recent tragedies involving young people in care:
