Ballasalla factory to close

by isleofman.com 13th April 2006
The Island’s manufacturing sector is digesting the latest news of closures and redundancies.

Castle Industries, in Ballasalla, is to close with the loss of all 30 jobs at the heat transfer paper business.

John Collins, the company’s financial director, says the closure is due to a decline in orders and strong competition from the Far East.

He says the firm is looking for other jobs for its employees and it’s a decision that was taken reluctantly.
