Children's documentary on Manx Radio

by isleofman.com 14th April 2006
It's an important day for pupils of Foxdale primary school. A documentary, telling the story of their efforts to raise funds for a new school at a village in Uganda, has been broadcast on Manx Radio. After sending an aid package at the end of last year, a number of the children now have pen pals in the African nation. Foxdale teacher Elizabeth Bankes-Jones, says they have put a huge amount of work into the project, and there are benefits on both sides (audio file attached): (Picture: A group of people involved in making the documentary, including Elizabeth Bankes-Jones, centre rear, and pupil Katie Meads who interviewed the Ugandan Archbishop of York, the Right Reverend John Sentamu, for the production). The documentary will be available for listening on the "Audio Vault" at www.manxradio.com later today (Friday).
