Houlgrave exhibition opens

by isleofman.com 14th April 2006
An artist who taught Manx students for 30 years will have his work exhibited at the Manx Museum from today (Friday).

"For the Love Of It," is the title of a display of work by Eric Houlgrave, who taught at the Kensington Road Art School and the Isle of Man College for three decades.

The exhibition will showcase watercolour paintings, calligraphy, pottery and cinematography.

Amongst the items on display will be an illuminated address presented to Sir Charles Kerruish; an award winning film and a stunning variety of Manx scenes depicted in watercolour.

Visitors will also be able to listen to and read touching memories provided by former students and colleagues, while budding artists can try their hand at calligraphy.

The exhibition runs until June the 24th.
