On A Clear Day reviewed

by isleofman.com 15th April 2006
The latest film release to be shot in the Isle of Man has had a mixed response from critics on its first weekend in America: though the Island comes out shining.
Released on Good Friday, On A Clear Day stars Peter Mullan of Trainspotting fame, alongside Brenda Blethyn, most recently seen in Pride and Prejudice.
One US critic says the film starts well but begins to drag and ends up completely losing its charm because of inexperienced director Gaby Dellal and first-time screenwriter Alex Rose.
However, the Isle of Man gets a compliment, as a setting the filmmakers could have utilised more.
Overall, the review is positive, saying it’s a film teetering on the line of decency and you’ll either completely love or utterly despise it.
