Tynwald is being asked to find over 30 copies of a book sent out by a Manx charity.
Thirty-three copies of "Reduce, Re-use, Re-cycle" were sent to members of the court last year, with the request they should be read and passed on.
However, it now seems all the copies of the book have disappeared.
Chairman of Zero Waste Mann, Muriel Garland, says the volume contained information on leading a "greener" lifestyle and it was hoped sending out individually numbered copies would help get their message across, but only one member appears to have understood the idea.
Mrs Garland rejects the suggestion that apparent apathy among the politicians reflects a general lack of interest in recycling among the public, as witnessed by the closure of a kerbside collection scheme in Governor's Hill where there was less than a 50 per cent take-up.
