Bray Hill will be closed to traffic tomorrow evening (Thursday) to allow the first event in the Manx Motor Racing Club's "Manx Classic 2006" to go ahead.
More than 12 months in the planning, the Classic will see over 100 classic and modern cars sprint up the hill to the Grandstand.
Cars taking part will span more than 90 years of motoring and include everything from a 1916 Model T Ford to a 2006 Porsche 911, taking in Ferraris, Jaguars and MG's.
Bray Hill and connecting roads will be closed from 6.45pm to no later than 10.45pm for racing to take place.
Residents around the area have been notified by flyers distributed to their homes.
On Friday, there will be a pursuit sprint at Jurby, whilst Saturday sees a hillclimb out of Ramsey.
Officials from the Manx Motor Racing Club say they hope the event will provide a great success with spectators and say all relevant safety requirements have been observed.
Manx Radio's Chris Kinley will be on live on tomorrow morning's Talking Heads programme to set the scene, talking to drivers and organisers, and there will be live coverage of the event from the Grandstand tomorrow evening on Chris's show from 6.30pm.
