Sheep worrying

by isleofman.com 19th April 2006
Police have issued a warning to dog owners after an incident of sheep worrying in the area around Ballanard Road in Douglas.

The incident in question took place on Monday evening.

Officers say it is especially important that dogs are kept under control at this time of year when sheep are lambing, and owners could face prosecution if they fail to do so.

They point out that farmers also have the right to shoot any dog found worrying their livestock.
