The cross is used by the Methodist, Anglican and Catholic churches on Good Friday, when congregations gather together to worship in the Shoprite Car Park.
The damage occurred on Easter Monday, when the cross bar was taken. It hasn’t yet been recovered.
Reverend Kath Corkish explained the cross held a special significance for local churches.
