For the first ever time, joint winners of the Sportsman of the Year Award were announced at last night's gathering at the Villa Marina - namely World Champions Mark Cavendish and David Knight.
They were also presented with Curwen Clague medals for outstanding sporting achievement.
Triathlete Jessica Draskau-Petersson took the Sportswoman of the Year Award for a string of excellent performances during 2005. British Rally Champion Mark Higgins won the Ambassador prize and Bacchas Hockey Club were awarded Team of the Year after sweeping all the major Mixed, Men's and Ladies leagues and cups.
The Under-21 titles went to athlete Keith Gerrad and cyclist Cayley Ennett. Swimming's Max Stewart was named Coach of the Year, while the Club Official award went to Rugby's Chris Till.
Double Island Games gold medallist, archer Jane Moore, won the Disability Sportsperson of the Year. Dot Tilbury received the Lifetime Achievement Award for her work with Manx cycling.
