Supermarket pioneer and multimillionaire Albert Gubay is to give a million pounds to the Island to be used for sports and educational purposes.

Mr Gubay, whose fortune was founded on the "Kwik Save" discount stores, is estimated to be worth anything between ?360 to ?730 million..
