Champ calls for Manx Velodrome

Following the one million pound donation to sport and education from Albert Gubay, World Cycling Champion Mark Cavendish is pleading for part of the funding to be used on a Manx Velodrome.

Mark was named as Sportsman of the Year along with David Knight at last night's Sports Awards Ceremony at the Villa Marina.

At the same event, news of the huge gift from Mr Gubay was announced.

Mark says a Velodrome would not only improve Manx cycling further, it would also make it safer for youngsters to train:-
