There were no major surprises as all Combination Two interest in the Isle of Man Bank Junior Cup ended at the first round stage.
Favourites and newly crowned OSA Combination One league champions Peel won 4-0 at St John’s with goals from Neil Birchenough, Scott Mylchreest, Peter Lewis and Carl Roberts.
St George’s were too strong for Combination Two side Onchan with a 5-1 success at Glencrutchery Road.
The Geordies found the net through hat-trick hero Nick Ford, Andy Pennington and Darren Shields.
Onchan worked hard and had only trailed 2-1 at the break.
Another of the favourites, Laxey, were too strong for Pulrose with a 6-2 success at Glen Road, courtesy of a four goal haul from Lee Cowley and a Jason Price double.
Stephen Hawley hit a brace for Pulrose who battled throughout.
Union Mills’ chances of causing an upset were brutally dismissed by Rushen United who ran out 4-1 winners at Croit Lowey.
Mark Barron (two), Tony Rodgers and Andrew Bunce were the men on target with Ian Drake scoring the Mills’ consolation.
Southern neighbours Castletown also progressed to the quarter-finals in style with a 4-0 home win over Gymns.

The closest contest of the round saw Ramsey emerge triumphant over the Police in a dramatic penalty shoot-out at Ballacloan.
The home side had taken a first half lead from Tom Devine before John Quaye equalised for the Police before the break.
There were no further goals in the second half, or in the 30 minutes of extra-time, and Ramsey came through to win 5-4 on spot-kicks.
Old Boys thrashed Michael 5-1 at Blackberry Lane with Ian Reynolds scoring the westerners’ consolation.
In the only game in CFS Division Two, Foxdale won 5-1 at bottom club Jurby thanks to goals from Simon Metcalffe, ‘Beefy’ Thomas (two), Shaun Sheridan and Colin Quirk
