Directory recycling

14 tonnes of old Manx Phone Directories will be recycled this year.

The recycling scheme has been running for some time, but this is the first year it has been possible to accurately gauge the number of books being handed in.

Manx Telecom's Commercial Manager, Andrew Honour, says whilst they have received 14,000 directories, they would like to double that figure in 2007.

However, he says even now it's making a valuable contribution to protecting the environment:
