Outright T.T. lap record holder Dave Molyneux has thrown the hammer down to his rivals by winning the opening round of the British Formula Two Sidecar Championship.

He took the chequered flag at Brands Hatch on Sunday 12 seconds ahead of Steve Norbury.

His time was 14 minutes, 18.01 seconds at an average speed of 77.17mph.

At T.T. 2005, the "Regaby Rocket" became the first Sidecar driver to complete a lap of the Mountain Course in under 20 minutes. He also created history by finishing a race in under an hour.
