A new date has been fixed this afternoon (Tuesday) for the trial of Julie Corkill - wife of the former chief minister Richard Corkill.
The trial was due to begin earlier this month but was delayed as it was felt the five days allocated for the case were insufficient. It will now commence on July 12th and last for up to three weeks.
Julie Corkill denies two offences of deception and two more of false accounting in connection with the payment of government grants towards tourist accommodation work at her family home, Ballacain in Onchan (pictured).
Builder William Kelly, a partner in G C Construction, which carried out work at the Corkill's home, denies producing fraudulent documents for the Department of Tourism and Leisure for the purpose of payment of a tourism development fund and aiding and abetting.
