Tynwald briefed on digital TV switchover

Officers from Digital UK and the United Kingdom departments of trade and industry, and culture, media and sport have been speaking to members of Tynwald. Their visit comes ahead of the Isle of Man's changeover to digital television in 2008. The Island will be in the first region to go fully digital and have its analogue system switched off. It means a whole range of new channels will be available from the BBC, there will be more channels from ITV and Channel 4 and Channel 5 will be available through an aerial for the first time on the Island. Operations Director for Digital UK, Andy Townend, says it's an exciting time for broadcasting and there is nothing to worry about:
