Laxey looking to clinch title

by isleofman.com 26th April 2006
Laxey will win Football's Division One title on Wednesday evening, if they beat Marown.

3 points will see the champagne corks popping at Glen Road to celebrate the club's first ever championship.

It would also see the "Miners" complete stage 3 of the Grand Slam, with the Railway and F.A. Cups already locked away in the trophy cabinet.

Before kick-off, Laxey lead Peel by 4 points and both teams have two games left to play.

If Laxey fail to win, and Peel record a victory at Gymns, the race for the title will go to the last match of the season. That game - Peel v Laxey!
