Organisers appeal for help to save Peel to Douglas Run

by isleofman.com 26th April 2006
The oldest Isle of Man road running event faces an uncertain future.

The front page of the Manxathletics.com website has an appeal from the Organisers to help save the Peel to Douglas race.

This year's run is scheduled to take place on Bank Holiday Monday starting at 6.30pm from Peel Town Hall.

However, a large number of volunteers are needed to help with marshalling and to man drink stations.

It is stated that during the lead in to the event, it has become clear some authorities are getting very twitchy about safety, with the Island's roads getting busier with traffic every year.
