Safer route to school

Pupils of Rushen Primary will have 'followed the feet' on a safer route to school this morning.

A school front safety report showed the area was very congested during picking up and dropping off times.

A travel plan has been drawn up, which looks at safety and health issues, and signage and access in the area has been improved by the Department of Transport.

The initiative also includes the walking bus.

Headteacher Tom Thompson says the scheme is in its early stages, but is hoping it will gather pace:
