Manslaughter sentencing today

by isleofman.com 28th April 2006
A Ramsey woman who admits the manslaughter of her former partner will be sentenced at Douglas Courthouse (pictured) this morning.

Fifty year old Ann Marie Gosling accepted the charge earlier this week after the initial charge of murder was reduced on the grounds of diminished responsibility.

Forty-nine year old Peter Roy Ormiston died in January 2004 in Balleigh Park in the town.

On Monday, the court heard how Ms Gosling had a difficult life, attempted suicide, had severe depression and was in a serious psychiatric state.

A doctor is expected to explain to the court how much of a risk she believes Ms Gosling poses to the public and which facility would best suit her needs.
