A woman who stabbed her boyfriend to death in Ramsey has been jailed for four and a half years on an admitted manslaughter charge.
Fifty year old Anne Marie Gosling killed Peter Ormiston at their home in Kings Reach, Ramsey, in January 2004.
She was sentenced at Douglas courthouse (pictured) on Friday afternoon.
Jason Roberts reports (text of attached audio file):
The court heard Gosling had suffered serious mental health problems and remembered nothing of the attack.
During her time in jail, she had attempted suicide three times.
She denied murder but admitted manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
Sentencing her today, Acting Deemster Simon Fawcus said he accepted Gosling posed little risk to the public but added he could only punish her for her actions.
She wept and held her head in her hands when he told her she would be imprisoned for four and a half years.
However, Gosling has already served half of her sentence awaiting trial, meaning she could be released shortly.
