Police say they’ve asked the Attorney General to consider appealing against the length of sentence given to a Ramsey woman who killed her boyfriend.
Anne Marie Gosling was yesterday jailed for four and a half years after admitting the manslaughter of Peter Ormiston at their King's Reach home in January 2004.
The court heard she had severe psychiatric problems and posed little risk to the community although she was considered at risk of taking her own life.
After the case, the Manx force issued a statement saying it would seek advice from the Attorney General’s chambers over the sentence.
Gosling would be due for release from prison shortly, but the case could go to appeal if the Attorney General thinks the jail term was too lenient.
