Heritage Homes has requested an appeal after its proposals for a 21-home development and elderly mentally infirm unit were turned down by government planners.
The committee refused the application on environmental grounds.
More than 200 residents in the Farmhill and Saddlestone area of Douglas objected to the plans.
While residents in the vicinity weren’t opposed to an EMI Unit being built, they felt the site was inappropriate as the land is home to a number of protected habitats.
