No clean fuel for Government vehicles?

The Council of Ministers has no imminent plans to look into the possibility of using bio-fuel for government vehicles.

The question was posed in Keys this morning (Tues) by Onchan MHK Peter Karran, who suggested that there may be environmental and maintenance benefits.

Answering on behalf of the Chief Minister, Environment Minister John Rimington (pictured) said at this time the Isle of Man production of bio-diesel from oil seed rape would not be viable:

Mr Rimington said the other possible bio-fuel to be investigated is bio-ethanol, which is derived from high starch cereals and sugar beet. These WERE currently being explored, but not by government agencies:
