Drugs man jailed

by isleofman.com 3rd May 2006
A 28 year old man has been jailed for a total of 8 months by the High Bailiff.

Karl Thomas of no fixed abode, appeared for sentence after admitting possessing 15 Ecstasy tablets and a 9-ounce bar of cannabis resin, with intent to supply.

The defendant was arrested on April 4th at a flat in Douglas where the drugs were found.

His advocate said the defendant admitted that he was going to sell some of the cannabis resin to pay for his supplier. He had not realised the offences were so serious and the Ecstasy was for his own use.

Mr Moyle said the courts views on drugs were well known, and the offence of possessing the cannabis with intent to supply was in effect the more serious offence.
