Prison foundation stone to be laid

Work has been underway since last summer, but next week will see the foundation stone officially laid at the new prison.

Minister for the Department of Home Affairs, John Shimmin will do the honours on May 12th at 3pm.

He will be joined by former Minister Phil Braidwood MHK and department member Quintin Gill, Michael MHK David Cannan and members of the construction and design team.

Tynwald voted to spend ?40 million on the new prison, and it's expected to be finished by November 2007.
