Health and Safety legislation

by isleofman.com 9th May 2006
Rushen MHK Quintin Gill says he hopes Tynwald will adopt recommendations of a select committee he chaired into Health and Safety legislation.

He says there are obvious measures that can be taken to simplify existing laws and avoid some of the criticisms over health and safety issues.

In the UK there are plans for new compensation laws controlling how people can sue over incidents, potentially halting the massive growth in litigation.

Mr Gill (pictured) hopes Tynwald will look at introducing similar laws when it considers the report later this month.
