by isleofman.com 10th May 2006
Football - Laxey will recieve the Division One Championship trophy this evening (Wednesday).

The Miners final league match is at Douglas Road, Peel - the team who chased them hardest.

At the end of tonight's match, the silverware will be handed out to a club winning the title for the first time in history.

The Railway and FA Cups are already tucked away in the Glen Road trophy cabinet. Only one leg of the Grand Slam remains and Laxey have reached the semi-finals of the Hospital Cup.

Several players who were part of the Isle of Man team which lifted the English FA League System Cup at Cambridge on Sunday afternooon, will be in action at Douglas Road.

The other top flight game is St. George's v St. Mary's. In Division Two, Pulrose meet Ramsey Youth Centre and in Combination Two, Colby host Foxdale.
