Problems at North West 200 practice

by isleofman.com 10th May 2006
The first evening (Tuesday) of practice for Saturday's North West 200 was cursed with problems.

No official times have been released after the automatic transponder system broke down.

There were also several incidents. English rider Keith Burtonshaw came off at Mathers Cross. Although no details have been released, first reports were that the injury was serious.

Cameron Donald could be out of the T.T. after being taken to hospital with a suspected broken collarbone. Dublin rider Ken Doherty suffered a broken leg after a spill at Primrose Hill, and Damien Mulleady went for a check-up with slight head injuries.

Unofficial times suggest Michael Rutter was quickest in the Superbikes, the Supersport class is led by Ian Hutchison and TAS Suzuki star Bruce Anstey was fastest in the Superstocks.
