by isleofman.com 10th May 2006
A breakdown of spending on wage increases for public sector workers will be given to Tynwald members next week.

The total figure approved by the Treasury to cover wage rises amounts to ?10.2 million pounds.

The figures from the government show ?1.8 million was put aside for increases in pay for manual workers under a Whitley council agreement.

But the largest sum was awarded to hospital medical and dental staff, with a ?2.1million budget increase.

Pay for doctors and the community health service rose by almost ?1.6 million over the last year.

The figures, due to go before Tynwald on Tuesday, don’t include the civil service pay award which was settled in August last year.
