Drive by pellet shooting

by isleofman.com 11th May 2006
Police are appealing for information after a 15 year old girl was shot with plastic pellets.

The incident happened at around 7pm in Station Road, Ballasalla, when the girl was walking home.

A young man, in the back of a red Landrover shot at the girl with a black hand gun.

The gun fired plastic balls with a similar appearance to ball bearings, although the weapon looked genuine from a distance.

The boy is thought to be around 15 years old with dark brown hair and wearing a pink jumper with blue stripes and the car was being driven towards Castletown at the time by a middle aged man. It was thought there was a further passenger in the rear of the vehicle. The Landrover had black bumpers and a spare tyre on the rear of the vehicle.

Police say such incidents raise serious safety concerns for members of the public, and can result in serious and sometimes tragic consequences.
