Drug abuse in prison

Efforts to combat the ongoing problem of drug use among prisoners, continue to be enforced in the Isle of Man.

Preventing inmates getting hold of drugs has been a problem for decades - and remains a major challenge to the authorities.

A UK expert in the field has been here to pass-on the latest thinking on the issue, to the Island's prison chiefs and and anti-drugs advisors.

Co ordinator of the Chief Minister's Drugs Strategy Margaret O'Reilly says practical measures ARE being taken to stop the flow of drugs into prisons:
