The opening round of the British Rally Championship takes place this weekend.
The Pirelli International Rally is based at Carlisle and sees competitors tackle 115 miles of stages in the Kielder Forest.
Three Manx former British Champions are included in the entry list. There’s a welcome return to action for 2003 World Production Car Champion Martin Rowe, who won this domestic series in 1998. He takes the wheel of a Suburu Impreza.
Defending title holder Mark Higgins is back hoping to add a third British title to his CV. He also drives a Suburu Impreza.
And 2004 Champ David Higgins is having a crack at the First Round….and possibly the whole Championship. He pilots a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9.
The Manx presence is underlined by two co-drivers in the top end cars. Rob Fagg is on the notes for James Wozencroft and Andrew Bargery sits alongside Justin Dale.
The Rally takes place tomorrow and Sunday.
