Emerald goes into administration

by isleofman.com 12th May 2006
Emerald Airways have gone into administration.

KPMG Restructuring have been appointed as administrators to Emerald Airways Ltd and Emerald Engineering Ltd.

The Blackpool based company had its Air Operators Certificate provisionally suspended by the Civil Aviation Authority earlier this month.

As a result of the fleet being grounded the company has been unable to generate sufficient funds to cover its outgoings.

Joint Administrator at KPMG Restructuring, Richard Fleming, says the options for the business are being evaluated with a view to selling it as a going concern, but in order to achieve this the AOC suspension will need to be lifted.
